Moorhouse is a beautiful country residence set in two acres of delightful grounds with open views across the Golden Valley and other National Trust land. The villages of Haslemere, Grayshott and Beacon Hill are nearby but this house, which was designed by the famous English architect Sir Edwin Lutyens at the turn of the century, enjoys an idyllic rural setting.
All bedrooms are very comfortably furnished and have hand basins. Many also have en-suite toilets and some have their own bathrooms. All rooms are fitted with a nurse call intercom, television, radio, direct dial telephone and thermostatic radiator controls. General bathrooms are fitted with specialist baths and bathing aids.
We offer a range of care to suit particular needs:
Our cooks offer a varied menu, with a choice of alternative dishes always available. Particular care is taken in the preparation of food to provide choice to meet individual requirements and also diabetic or other special dietary needs.
The social life at Moorhouse includes outings such as trips to the theatre, National Trust properties and the seaside. There are regular visits from outside speakers and musical groups as well as a full programme of social activities including crafts, music evenings and exercise classes.
A library is available to all residents which is supported by the mobile County Library to meet individual requirements.
The sitting room and dining room are fitted with a loop system for the hard of hearing. This facility is also available in resident’s private rooms if required.
Residents are encouraged to bring in such items of furniture, pictures and other keepsakes as can be accommodated. Pets may be allowed at Matron’s discretion.
Moorhouse was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (www.cqc.org.uk) on 22/11/16 & 2/12/16 for Nursing Home services and rated overall as "Requires Improvement" but with "Caring" rated as "Good". A copy of the CQC report published Jan 2017 is available here on the CQC website.
